PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove coarse particles, that may cause a defect of an electrode, from a positive electrode active material without compromising the production capacity.SOLUTION: A method of producing a positive electrode active material includes a classification step of obtaining a powder of a positive electrode active material by bringing a calcination body of a positive electrode active material into powder state, and then subjecting the powder to a vibration sieve in a state of 60°C-100°C, and a dry magnetic separation step of magnetically separating the powder thus classified at 60°C-100°C. In the classification step, clogging due to powder is prevented by vibrating the sieve. Since the powder is sieved at a temperature of 60°C-100°C, fluidity of the powder is high, and the processing time can be shortened. Since the powder enters the magnetic separation step in a state of high dispersibility, magnetic particles mixed in the powder can be removed easily. |
