PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid vehicle and a method of controlling the same such that a regeneration control time of a PM collection filter installed in the exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine can be shortened and fuel reduction effect can be obtained by making a drive by the internal combustion engine devotedly under regeneration control over the PM collection filter while using electric power generation by a motor generator in combination.SOLUTION: When the load needed to drive a vehicle 1 is within a high-load region, "an internal combustion engine independent drive" is made in which the vehicle 1 travels only with the driving force of an internal combustion engine 10. When the load is within a low-load region, "a motor travel drive" is made in which the vehicle 1 travels only with the driving force of a motor generator 20 is made while the internal combustion engine 10 operates for regeneration of a PM collection filter 12b. When the load is within a regeneration region, "a regeneration control drive" is made in which the internal combustion engine 10 operates for regeneration of the PM collection filter 12b and energy is recovered by driving the motor generator 20 with driving force from driving shafts 33, 31 of wheels 34 of the vehicle 1. |
