The invention relates to a drive unit for driving an endless belt (2), comprising a driving drum (3), which is intended for contact with said endless belt (2), and a first motor (5) coupled to the drum (3). The drive unit also comprises a second motor (7) coupled to the drum (3) and/or a brake (9) coupled to the drum (3). The invention further relates to a method for operating said drive unit. In said method, the effect of the second motor (7) and/or of the brake (9) is superposed on the effect of the first motor (5). |
