<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for searching for enzyme groups and variants thereof associated with terpene biosynthetic pathway, the enzyme groups and variants being used for constructing a large-scale biosynthetic system of terpene.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for screening a terpene synthase based on "substrate consuming ability" of the terpene synthase. Specifically, there is provided a method for screening genes and/or variants thereof coding an enzyme associated with terpene synthesis by introducing test genes to cells which are each introduced with a terpene synthase variant having an enhanced enzymatic activity and/or an expression thereof compared with a wild type enzyme, to culture them, and by selecting the test gene introduced to a surviving cell, among the test genes introduced into the cells.</p> |
