SOLID ELECTROLYTIC CAPACITOR INCLUDING PRECOAT LAYER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolytic capacitor including a conductive polymer solid electrolyte.SOLUTION: The solid electrolytic capacitor includes: an anode body formed from a conductive powder; a dielectric positioned on the anode body and/or in the anode body; an adhesive coating overlying the dielectric; and a solid electrolyte overlying the adhesive coating. The powder has high specific charge and relatively dense filling structure. Despite of being formed from such a powder, the present inventors found that a conductive polymer may easily be impregnated into pores of the anode. This is partially achieved through a use of a discontinuous precoat layer in the adhesive coating overlying the dielectric. The precoat layer includes a plurality of discrete nano-protrusions of manganese oxide such as manganese dioxide.
