摘要 The composition for stimulating an immune response in a subject comprises methyl vinyl ether and maleic anhydride copolymer-based nanoparticles. Said nanoparticles may further contain an allergen or an antigen and/or an immunostimulating agent, which may be contained inside said nanoparticles and/or at least partially coating the surface of said nanoparticles, and optionally a cross-linking agent. The immune response stimulating composition is useful as an adjuvant in immunotherapy and vaccines.

A method for stimulating a Th1 immune response against an allergen in a subject in need of treatment by immunotherapy against said allergen, said method comprising administering to the subject a Th1 immune response stimulating composition comprising nanoparticles based on a methyl vinyl ether and maleic anhydride (PVM/MA) copolymer, and an allergen, wherein said allergen is encapsulated inside said PVM/MA copolymer nanoparticles, wherein said allergen comprises an allergenic food or an allergenic food product extract, wherein the PVM/MA-based nanoparticles further comprise an immunostimulating agent at least partially coating the surface of said nanoparticles, and wherein the stimulation of the Th1 immune response in the subject is due to said nanoparticles based on a PVM/MA copolymer.
