<p>The specification relates to a digital protection relay which manages a memory used for actual operation and a memory used for self examination separately and a self examination method thereof. To that end, according to the present invention, the digital protection relay is linked with an HMI which delivers a signal corresponding to user input and includes: a first memory which is used for actual operation; a second memory which is used for self examination; and a control unit which, when a predefined self examination function is selected by user input through the HMI, copies various kinds of data stored in the first memory to the second memory, switches the memory from the first to the second memory, receives a plurality of measurement values and status values by user input through HMI, performs self examination based on the received measured values an status values and the data copied into the second memory, and records the result of the self examination into the second memory.</p> |
