PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic contactor which can eliminate the difference in distance between a plurality of movable contacts and fixed contacts caused by the inclination of a crossbar in operation.SOLUTION: An electromagnetic contactor comprises: a plurality of pairs of fixed contact pieces having fixed contacts and fixed to a housing with a predetermined distance therebetween; a plurality of movable contact pieces each having, on both ends, a pair of movable contacts which move closer to or away from each of the fixed contacts; a compression spring which is engaged, on its one end, with a center portion of each of the movable contact pieces so as to press the movable contact pieces against the fixed contact pieces; a crossbar which supports the other end of the compression spring and the center portion of each of the movable contact pieces, and which has, at its proximal end, a base with a movable iron core fixed thereto; an electromagnetic actuator arranged in the housing, which has a fixed iron core arranged to face the movable iron core and displaces the crossbar so as to move the movable contact pieces closer to or away from the fixed contact pieces; and a positioning guide arranged in the housing and having a gap between itself and the crossbar which becomes narrower as the movable iron core comes closer to the fixed iron core. |
