PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To periodically update a display of an electronic paper, and to display additional information. SOLUTION: Each time when the power supply of an information display device is turned on/off automatically, the display device is connected to a predetermined information distribution server via a communications network and acquires information to be displayed on the electronic paper. The device stores the acquired data and displays the information on the electronic paper. When a user turns on the power, the device again displays the information the display of which is kept in the electronic paper in the power-off period so that the device can accept access instruction to additional information related to the redisplayed information. Thereby, direct access to the additional information related to the information, the display of which is being kept in the electronic paper in the power-off period can be indicated on the electronic paper, which allows the user to intuitively and easily obtain additional information displayed.
