PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery equalization device for equalizing a battery when voltage imbalance occurs between batteries parallely coupled with each other, and a method thereof.SOLUTION: A battery equalization device according to the present invention includes: a power conversion device; plural batteries parallely coupled with the power conversion device; a relay serially provided between the power conversion device and the batteries; and a management part respectively coupled with the power conversion device, the batteries, and the relay, monitoring voltages of the respective batteries, communicating with the power conversion device when the voltage imbalance is detected in the battery, determining an equalization object battery among the batteries whose voltage is detected as imbalance, determining an equalization mode, controlling the relay, and transmitting a status of the battery to the power conversion device. The power conversion device communicates with the management part and adjusts an equalized output. |
