OBTURATOR FEATURES FOR MATING WITH CANNULA TUBE A surgical assembly (10) includes a cannula (200) and an obturator (100). The cannula (200) has open proximal and distal ends (230, 240) defining a lumen (250) therebetween. The lumen (250) defines an inner surface (252) of the cannula (200) having a mating structure (220). The obturator (100) is generally tubular and has an outer surface (122) including a corresponding mating structure (120). The respective mating structures (120, 220) of the obturator (100) and the cannula (200) engage each other so as prevent relative rotation of the obturator (100) and cannula (200), and to prevent inadvertent disconnection of an upper valve housing attached to the cannula (200). |
