A coupling device for the releasable connection of two parts to one another, one of which is made rod-like as a shaft (35), possesses a pot-like housing (11), in the interior of which a part element (16) is fastened by means of a wedge-shaped collar (17). A pressing part (24) engages over the wedge-shaped collar (17) and is pressed by springs in the direction of a clamping of the wedge-shaped collar (17) together with the shaft (35). To release the coupling, there is provided pressure fluid which is forced via a bore (36) in the bottom of the housing (11) into an annular space (23) formed between the inner face of the pot-like housing edge (13) and the outer face of the wedge-shaped element (16), with the result that the pressing part (27) designed as an annular piston is forced away from the wedge face counter to the pressure of the springs. <IMAGE>
