PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignitor for an internal combustion engine, capable of stabilizing a potential state of each ground terminal of a connector part and an ignitor.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine ignitor comprises: a connector part 120 provided with ground terminals tg1; an iron core 113 constituting a coil assembly 110; an ignitor 130 intermittently generating a primary current in response to an operation of a power transistor 132; and a ground relay part electrically connecting the iron core 113 to an engine block. A first ground current path Ig1 electrically connecting the ground terminals tg1 to the ground relay part via the iron core 113, and a second ground current path Ig2 applying the primary current to the ground relay part via the iron core 113 are formed. The first ground current path Ig1 does not meet the second ground current path Ig2 in an interval from the ground terminals tg1 to the iron core 113.
