A method of surgical treatment of chronic lower limb ischemia includes femoral-popliteal shunting with synthetic blood vessel graft with formation of the distal and proximal anastomoses of the graft with popliteal and common femoral arteries. The synthetic graft is made thin-walled and is placed in lumen of the trunk of the great saphenous vein, which is left in his bed. The area of its trunk is determined in ​​the knee joint area, which best corresponds to the length and diameter of the popliteal artery. With the knee artery it forms a distal anastomosis of the trunk of the great saphenous vein and the lower edge of the graft, with the subsequent formation of the proximal anastomosis of the ostium of the great saphenous vein and the upper edge of the graft with the common femoral artery.
