Disclosed are a display input device and an input method, capable of performing various input methods without a crash of signal during use, thereby improving user convenience. The present invention includes a touch pad (10) which comprises a touch side (10a) which recognizes a drag generated by touch; a direction key which is divided into sections on the touch side (10a) to move the position of a pointer up and down, and left and right; a switch (12) which is mounted on the lower side (10b) of the touch pad (10) and generates a click signal when a down external force equal to or greater than a predetermined value is applied to the touch pad (10); and a recovery unit which elastically supports the lower side of the touch pad (10) in an upward direction. The display input method comprises a cursor moving step (D2) for moving a cursor on a display when a drag (D1) is performed from a constant point of the touch side (10a) formed on one side of the touch pad (10) to another point; a direction key operating step (C2b) for operating a direction key when a click (C1) is performed on one direction key among the direction keys of the touch pad (10); and a scroll operating step (T2) for operating the scroll in all directions when a tab (T1) is performed in a constant point of the touch side (10a) formed on a side of the touch pad (10).
