The present invention relates to a nanocatalyst comprising metal nanoparticles deposited on a metal oxide substrate or powder by an arc plasma deposition method. The nanocatalyst of the present invention can obtain excellent catalytic activity by stably fixating metal nanoparticles on a substrate or powder while evenly distributing the metal nanoparticles on the substrate or the powder. In addition, the size of deposited metal particles can be adjusted by controlling the intensity of voltage during the deposition by using the arc plasma deposition method.
