[Class 52 (ii)] A n invalids' bedstead provided with links 15, 16 connected to the spring mattress and adapted to be moved to the position shown to raise the knees of the occupant is provided with a pair of members 28 connected to the mattress to form a foot supporting section, the members 28 being connected through pin-and-slot couplings 27 and links 26 to the links 15 so that operation of links 15, 16 to raises the knees of the patient produces corresponding adjustment of the foot supporting section. The links 15 are pivotally secured at their lower ends to a crossbar 17 which can be moved horizontally to raise or lower the links 15, 16 by members 21 secured to a nut 22 working on a rotatable screw 23. The members 28 may be provided with an extension frame 29 pivoted thereto and adapted to be held either in line with or perpendicular to the members 28 by pins 31. A back and head rest support is provided and comprises a pair of triangular linkages 5, 5a, 5b pivoted to the side members of the bed frame at 6 and raised and lowered by rods 7 which are moved for this purpose by means of a nut 8 working on a rotatable screw 9. An extension frame 12 may be pivoted to the links 5, a cross-bar 13 acting to limit the movement of this extension frame. |
