<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: an excellent device and a method for providing the inside of an eyeball with an IOL (intraocular lens) are needed.SOLUTION: An intraocular lens introduction device 10 comprises a cylindrical housing 15 that comprises a plunger 32 longitudinally arranged within the cylindrical housing. An electric drive system 38 makes a tip 25 of the plunger engaged with an insertion cartridge 20, and longitudinally moves the plunger in parallel so as to discharge an internally-arranged intraocular lens in the state of folding it and introduce the folded lens into a crystalline capsule of an eyeball. A control circuit 100 is configured to start parallel movement of the plunger depending on user input, detect at least one fault condition on the basis of a back electromotive force generated by an electric motor 42, and stop the parallel movement of the plunger depending on the detected fault condition. The fault condition is caused by excess resistance to the forward parallel movement or backward parallel movement of the plunger or insufficient resistance to the forward parallel movement of the plunger.</p> |
