PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent human errors and/or information leakage and improve workability.SOLUTION: A meter comprises: a proximity communication section (44) for performing proximity communication (10) with a communication terminal (6); a storage section (48) for storing indicator information or internal information; and a control section (an information processing section 40) for providing the indicator information to the communication terminal according to a request from the communication terminal connected to the proximity communication section, or setting the internal information to be provided by the communication terminal. This invention realizes meter reading and security through information exchange by means of the proximity communication (10) and Internet communication (14).
