PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a humidifier capable of performing proper humidification according to a requested humidification amount while suppressing power consumption, and an environment testing device.SOLUTION: An environment testing device 1 has a humidifier 10 which can form a desired humidity environment in a testing chamber 6. The humidifier 10 comprises: a storage part 15; and heating means 16 configured by two heating heaters 21 and 22. In the storage part 15, a plane cross section is a substantially uniform cross section at positions of different heights, and each of the heating heaters 21 and 22 is arranged at different positions in a height direction in the storage part 15. Then, according to a requested humidification amount in the testing chamber 6, capacity switching control can be executed for starting all or one part of the plurality of heating heaters 21 and 22, and when the requested humidification amount is equal to or less than a predetermined amount, the heating heater 21 closest to a water level in the storage part 15 is started. |
