PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assemble a terminal to a housing from the back and to temporarily fix the terminal while downsizing an entire connector in a longitudinal direction.SOLUTION: A connector comprises a terminal 34, a retainer 20 including an elastic lock piece 23, and a housing 10. When the terminal 34 is inserted to the housing 10 from the back while assembling the retainer 20 at a temporarily lock position, the elastic lock piece 23 is pushed in by the terminal 34, bent forwards and deformed to ride on the terminal 34. When the terminal 34 reaches a regular insertion state, the elastic lock piece 23 is elastically recovered and shallowly enters a lock hole 39. When the retainer 20 is moved from the temporary lock position to a main lock position while the terminal 34 is in the regular insertion state, the elastic lock piece 23 enters the lock hole 39 deeper than the temporary lock position. |
