In an energy management system (1) that manages home power, measuring devices (6a, 6b) measure condition values that express the condition of the home environment. A controller (2) respectively acquires, by communication, the measured condition values, a condition value that expresses the condition of a power generation system (3) provided to the home, a condition value that expresses the condition of a storage system (4) provided to the home, and a condition value that expresses the condition of electrical household equipment (5) provided to the home. The controller (2) sets the frequency of the communications by which the respective condition values are acquired according to whether power is being externally supplied to the home.
