PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dissolved copper raw material for continuous casting that can prevent oxygen from being mixed by coating the molten metal level of a copper molten metal in the melting furnace by a coating material comprising an oxidation inhibitor or a deoxidizing agent, even if additionally dumped into a melting furnace, and can ensure stable casting by suppressing fluctuation of a molten metal temperature and a molten metal amount, and further can automatically be dumped in a simple structure.SOLUTION: A dissolved copper raw material 10 for continuous casting is supplied into a melting furnace 21 when continuously manufacturing an ingot 1 by a continuous casting apparatus 20 including a melting furnace 21 and a casting mold 30 connected to a copper molten metal 3 in the melting furnace 21. In the dissolved copper raw material, a copper content is 99.96 mass% or more and an oxygen content is 20 mass ppm or less, a contour forms a spherical shape, a ratio R/Rbetween a maximum diameter Rand a minimum diameter Ris made in a range of 1.0≤R/R≤1.5, and a weight per one is set in a range of 5 g or more and 3000 g or less. |
