PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a possibility of acquiring apparatus state information from an electronic apparatus to smoothly manage the electronic apparatus.SOLUTION: An agent unit 111 acquires apparatus state information indicating a state of an image forming apparatus 101 from the image forming apparatus 101. A remote maintenance server 1 transmits an acquisition instruction to the agent unit 111, and when the agent unit 111 successfully acquires the apparatus state information, receives the apparatus state information from the agent unit 111. The remote maintenance server 1 (a) acquires operation schedule information on the image forming apparatus 101, (b) transmits an instruction to acquire the apparatus state information to the agent unit 111, (c) if the agent unit 111 fails to acquire the apparatus state information, registers reservation of re-transmission of the acquisition instruction at a timing within an operation time period of the image forming apparatus 101 based on the operation schedule information, and (d) transmits the acquisition instruction to the agent unit 111 at the timing of the reservation of the re-transmission.
