An electrodeless plasma lamp is described. The lamp includes a 5 power source configured to provide radio frequency (RF) power, and a lamp body. The lamp body includes a solid dielectric material having an elongate channel in a first side of the solid dielectric material, and an insert component. The insert component is formed of a dielectric material shaped and is dimensioned to be received within the channel. The insert component 10 includes a formation to receive a feed to couple the RF power into the lamp body. A bulb is positioned proximate a second side of the lamp body, the second side being opposed to the first side. The bulb contains a fill that forms a light-emitting plasma when the RF power is coupled to the fill from the lamp body.
