PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a female terminal fitting capable of preventing excessive deflection of an elastic contact piece without forming a hole on a side wall of a main body portion.SOLUTION: The female terminal fitting 10 comprises a cylindrical main body portion 20 and an elastic contact piece 28 arranged to be deflectable inside the main body portion 20. When a male tab 90 is inserted into the main body portion 20, the male tab 90 contacts the elastic contact piece 28 so that the elastic contact piece 28 is deflected and deformed toward a base wall 21 of the main body portion 20. In the base wall 21 of the main body portion 20 is provided an excessive deflection regulating portion 37 that is arranged at a position opposing to the elastic contact piece 28 in the deflecting direction and regulates excessive deflection of the elastic contact piece 28. The excessive deflection regulating portion 37 is shaped to be raised up toward the elastic contact piece 28 relative to a reference surface of the base wall 21. |
