PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination device installation structure capable of illuminating a floor surface and a tread surface sufficiently with small electric power, and capable of suppressing damage caused by a child and the like sitting on an upper surface.SOLUTION: An installation structure comprises: a tread surface 1 of a staircase; a wall surface 2 facing the staircase; and an illumination device 3. The illumination device 3 includes: an installation base 4 installed on the wall surface 2; and a light guide member 50, a light source 60 and a cover member 7 installed on the installation base 4. In the light guide member 50, an end surface of the longitudinal direction becomes an incident surface 53 of light from the light source, and one surface along the longitudinal direction becomes an emission surface 54 of light entered from the incident surface 53. In the light guide member 50, the longitudinal direction becomes substantially parallel with the inclination of the staircase and goes along the wall surface 2, height from the tread surface 1 is equal to or greater than 30 cm and equal to or less than 60 cm, and the light guide member 50 is arranged so that the emission surface 54 faces downward. The cover member 7 is for covering the light guide member 50 and the light source 60, in at least their upper side and the side opposite from the wall surface 2, and it inclines in such a manner that the further away the upper surface is from the wall surface 2, the further down it is located. |
