A suspension assembly having a frame hanger, a first control arm mounted between the frame hanger and an axle attachment member, a second control arm mounted to the frame hanger and to the axle attachment member, wherein the second arm extends from a centerline of the first control arm at an angle alpha such that the first control arm and the second control arm are not parallel to each other, wherein the centerline of the first control arm and the centerline of the second control arm extend to intersect at a point that is at a virtual center of rotation.

1. A suspension assembly for supporting a longitudinally extending vehicle frame rail, comprising:
a frame hanger having a frame attachment portion adapted for mounting to the vehicle frame rail; an axle attachment member mounted to a first vehicle axle; a first control arm having a first end mounted to, and extending from, a first frame hanger boss positioned on the frame hanger, and a second end mounted to the axle attachment member; a second control arm having a first end mounted to a second frame hanger boss positioned on the frame hanger, and a second end mounted to the axle attachment member; wherein the second control arm extends from a centerline of the first control arm at an angle alpha so that the first control arm and the second control arm are not parallel to each other; wherein the first control arm has a centerline that extends from the first end of the first control arm to the second end of the first control arm; wherein the second control arm has a centerline that extends from the first end of the second control arm to the second end of the second first control arm; wherein the centerline of the first control arm and the centerline of the second control arm extend to intersect at a point that is at a virtual center of rotation.
