An electrical device having at least one external, electrical power connector that is of platinum or plated with platinum is submersed in water 41. The water has an electrical conductivity of 5 x 10ÂÂÂ-3 S/m or less. The water may serve as a coolant for the device and may be contained in a tank 4. The electrical device may be a computing device comprising a plurality of watertight, interengaging, modular computing units. Each of the computing units may have a housing, a data processor within the housing and at least one external electrical power connector connected to the data processor and provided on the housing. Each housing may present a plurality of facets, with external electrical power connectors arranged on different facets of the housing for the transfer of electrical power with adjacent modular computing units. Each of the computing units may interengage to form 3D clusters defining passages, or holes, 14a to allow for the flow of the water 41 as coolant. |
