The invention relates to a modular airplane cabin window, having an exterior and an interior pane (1a, 1b) inserted in a substantially rectangular frame (2, 2', 3), having a foldable shade (4) disposed on the frame (2, 2'), wherein the shade has a freely displaceable end coupled to an actuating unit (5, 5') provided for the opening and closing of the shade (4), the actuating device having at least one lifting and lowering mechanism for the shade (4) disposed in one of the longitudinal parts (2c, 2'c) of the frame (2, 2') and a drive mechanism (9, 9') supported in a lower cross-piece (2b, 2'b) of the frame (2, 2'), wherein the mechanism comprises a threaded spindle (19, 19'). A particularly stable and durable design of the drive mechanism is obtained in that the threaded spindle (19, 19') can be displaced merely translationally and is coupled to a transmission mechanism, which actuates the at least one lifting and lowering mechanism. |
