<p>A method of edging a worktop with an edging strip employs a double-sided heat-activated tape 10 which is adhesive on both faces either to the exposed edge 8 of the worktop or to the under-surface of the edging strip; affixing the edging strip to the exposed edge of the worktop; and applying heat to the edging strip, such that the heat diffuses through the edging strip to the adhesive tape to raise it to a sufficient temperature to improve the bond on both faces of the tape. A heated body, such as an iron, may be used to apply heat and pressure. Preferably, the tape comprises a carrier of a polyester material and the adhesive is a polyacrylic adhesive.</p> |
