PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to print an image having desired quality even if an extent of spreading of an ink on a printing medium is ununiform.SOLUTION: An ink jet printing apparatus includes: an ink jet head for discharging an ultraviolet curable ink onto a printing medium; an ultraviolet irradiation part for applying ultraviolet radiation to an ink impacted on the printing medium; a driving shaft moving the ultraviolet irradiation part in a printing medium conveyance direction; an image processing part for measuring a size of an image printed on the printing medium; an image storage part for storing a size of a reference image; an operation part for calculating difference between the size measured by the image processing part and the size of the reference image; and a control part for controlling the driving shaft on the basis of the difference calculated by the operation part. The ink jet printing apparatus adjusts a beginning time of hardening of the ultraviolet curable ink by moving the driving shaft on the basis of the difference between the size measured by the image processing part and the size of the reference image. |
