<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-resistant composition containing an alkyl-modified PVA, which is applicable to applications requiring water resistance.SOLUTION: The present invention is the water-resistant composition which contains an alkyl-modified PVA (A) and an amphiphilic compound (B). The alkyl-modified PVA (A) contains a monomer unit having a C5-C29 alkyl group, and the content of the monomer unit is 0.05 to 5 mol% inclusive. The degree of saponification of the alkyl-modified PVA (A) is 20 to 99.99 mol% inclusive. The amphiphilic compound (B) is a compound (B1) represented by formula (I) or a cyclodextrin compound (B2).</p> |
