The plug (1) has a tensile test element (12) comprising an end section (16), which is adapted to seize and pull by a human hand, where the tensile test element is connected with the plug and and/or connection cable. The end section is connected with the plug and/or connection cable (10) over a longitudinal portion (14). The longitudinal part comprises a target rupture portion, which comprises a cross-section that is smaller than an adjacent portion of the longitudinal part. The target rupture portion is adapted to break at predetermined tensile force, which acts on the tensile test element. An independent claim is also included for a method for testing an electrical plug.
