PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deflection preventive member capable of increasing a bending rigidity of an indoor pipe and restricting deflection caused by thermal extension or shrinkage of the indoor pipe and a deflection preventive method for the indoor pipe using the same. ! SOLUTION: A deflection preventive member 10 is fixed to an indoor pipe 50 such as a water feeding upright pipe made of polyolefin resin so as to restrict any deflection of the pipe caused by its thermal extension or shrinkage generated between supporting segments 52, 58 of the indoor pipe 50. The deflection preventive member 10 includes a cylindrical segment 20 having an inside surface extending along the outer side surface of the indoor pipe 50 and this deflection preventive member is directly attached to the outer side surface of the indoor pipe 50 without being fixed to any wall surface of a building by an anchor bolt or the like. !
