<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect axial load and vertical load applied to a bearing as an index allowed to be accurately and quickly converted into a control signal in drive control of a rotating machine element.SOLUTION: In a bearing having loci 31, 41 of two or more opposite rolling elements 3, 4 vertical to a center axis, an ultrasonic wave Ua from one ultrasonic probe A is transmitted to one rolling element 3 out of at least the two rolling elements 3, 4 arranged in a center axis direction of the bearing and primarily reflected from a boundary between the rolling element 3 and an outer wheel 1 of the bearing with which the rolling element 3 is brought into contact, and then the primarily reflected wave is run as primary reflected wave R1 in parallel with the center axis and secondarily reflected by a boundary between the other rolling element 4 located on the opposite locus 41 and the outer wheel 1 of the bearing with which the rolling element 4 is brought into contact or a boundary surface of the outer wheel 1 of the bearing located on the opposite locus 41, and a secondary reflected wave R2 is received/measured by the other ultrasonic probe B, so that vertical load Wv mainly applied to the bearing in the vertical direction of the center axis is detected and axial load Wa is detected by using at least an ultrasonic probe C.</p> |
