PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery that can be manufactured at lower cost than conventional ones by devising the arrangement of an electrode body with respect to a battery case.SOLUTION: In a battery 100, a distance x along the longitudinal direction of a battery case from the joined position (the position of a weld part 18) of a positive electrode internal terminal 11 with respect to an electrode body 150 to the fastened position (the position of a fastening part 19) of a positive electrode external terminal 20 with respect to the battery case 110 is longer than a distance y along the longitudinal direction of the battery case from the joined position (position of a weld part 68) of a negative electrode internal terminal 61 with respect the electrode body to the fastened position (the position of a fastening part 69) of a negative electrode external terminal 70 with respect to the battery case. Additionally, the separation distance a between the cathode active material layer non-formation part 151a (positive electrode end part) of the electrode body and the battery case is shorter than the separation distance b between the anode active material layer non-formation part 154a (negative electrode end part) of the electrode body and the battery case. Thus, since the negative electrode internal terminal made of copper can be made smaller than the positive electrode internal terminal, the material cost is reduced and a battery can be manufactured at a low cost. |
