1. A method of forming a scaffold for the repair of load-bearing bone damage comprising:
obtaining a mold having an interior space that is complementary to the bone repair site; coupling wires to the mold, such that the wires extend through an interior space of the mold placing a fluid composition of hydroxyapatite and β-tricalcium phosphate into the interior space of the mold; wherein the fluid composition surrounds at least a portion of the wires; removing the wires from the mold after the fluid composition hardens. |
