An exercise weight comprising at least two handles 2, a fixed distance apart. The exercise aid defines holes, lacunae or apertures 4, and preferably these are defined by the handles with the aid being in the shape of a figure of eight or lemniscate with substantially oval, arcuate or pentagonal loops. Each handle has a handgrip 1 which is preferably movable or rotatable around the handle. Rotation of the handgrip 1 may effect an audible feedback noise and the resistance to rotation of the handgrip may be controlled by the user. The handgrips may also be locked to prevent rotation. The exercise aid is for use as a weightlifting device and free weights 8 may optionally be attached to a spindle 7 in the centre of the aid to vary the weight. Preferably the aid may be filled with water, fluid or sand. |
