1. A device for predicting or simulating a body temperature of a patient at a point in time that is in the future, the device comprising:
a parameter value means for determining parameter values concerning one of the patient and the environment thereof; and a computing means for simulating a body temperature of the patient over a future period, based on established physical relationships between the parameters and heat transferred between the patient and the environment; a body temperature detecting means for detecting a body temperature of the patient, said computing means using the detected body temperature of the patient for further simulating the body temperature; a comparing means for comparing the detected body temperature with the simulated body temperature.
