A surgical imaging device and method configured to be inserted into a surgical site. The surgical imaging device includes a plurality of prongs. Each one of the prongs has an image sensor mounted thereon. The image sensors provide different image data corresponding to the surgical site, thus enabling a surgeon to view a surgical site from several different angles. The prongs may be moveable between a first position, suitable for insertion though a small surgical incision, and a second position, in which the prongs are separated from each other. In addition, the prongs may be bendable. |

1. A surgical imaging device, comprising:
a body portion having a proximal end and a distal end, and defining a longitudinal axis extending therealong; at least one leg extending through the body portion, the at least one leg including a flexible prong disposed at a distal portion thereof; a camera fixedly positioned on a distal-most end of the flexible prong of the at least one leg in a crosswise configuration; at least one control lever configured to actuate movement of the flexible prong in a plurality of transverse directions with respect to the longitudinal axis of the body portion, the at least one control lever extending within the body portion and protruding through an opening located at the proximal end of the body portion; and a retraction actuator extending a length of the body portion and protruding from the distal end of the body portion, the retraction actuator including a non-deformable disc-shaped distal end portion configured to displace tissue to cause a cavity to be formed at the distal end of the body portion. |
