<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a radioactive substance, such as radioactive cesium regardless of the type of a contaminant, such as soil and debris and treat the same by a compact apparatus without requiring a large-scale facility.SOLUTION: A radioactive contaminant treatment method comprises: mounting a primary heater 9 and a secondary heater 10 in contaminant treating vehicles 2 and 3; collecting contaminants while running in a radioactive contamination zone; throwing the collected contaminants into the primary heater 9; primarily heat-treating and carbonizing the collected contaminants in the primary heater 9 at a temperature equal to or less than the boiling point of a radioactive substance; secondarily heat-treating and incinerating the charcoal picked out of the primary heater 9 in the secondary heater 10 at a temperature higher than that of the primary heat-treatment; mixing exhaust gas and ash generated by the cineration in the cleaning liquid, respectively; cleaning the cleaning liquid; and collecting the radioactive substance from the cleaning liquid.</p> |
