A barrier 30 having a multiplicity of different barrier types, namely a handrail and panel barrier 31 having a glass or other panel 32 with a sleeved handrail 33; a glass or other 5 panel barrier 34 separated between vertical posts 35; a balustrade with handrail barrier 36 having a longitudinally grooved handrail 37 and a lower beam 38, between which extend a plurality of the vertical balusters 10; and a balustrade with upper crossbar barrier 40 with the balusters 10 supported by a second lower beam (also labelled 38) and an intersecting crossbar 41 near their upper ends 42. The lower beam 38 and the io crossbar 41 are supported at either end by a pair of spaced vertical posts 43, the support effected by connection brackets 44 which are similar to the connection bracket 10.
