<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external pacemaker which is suitable to both for stimulation and for defibrillation and/or for cardioversion, and in which the emission of defibrillation and/or cardioversion pulses to an electrode which is unsuitable for defibrillation and/or cardioversion is prevented.SOLUTION: Two contact regions (11, 12) or two mating contacts (13, 14) of that part of the plug connector which is arranged at the external pacemaker (1) can be connected or are connected differently, such that one of the two contact regions (11, 12) or mating contacts (13, 14) is adapted for transmitting stimulation pulses to electrodes (2, 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d), and the other of the two contact regions (11, 12) or mating contacts (13, 14) is adapted for transmitting defibrillation and/or cardioversion pulses to the electrodes (2, 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d).</p> |
