PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately recommend a program to a user.SOLUTION: A recommendation system 5 comprises: program ranking data 1 for each channel in which an identifier of a channel is associated with a ranking of a program whose channel can be reserved for recording; preference channel data 2 including the identifier of a user's preference; and recommendation data output means 4 which outputs the identifier of the program corresponding to the identifier of a preference channel indicated by the preference channel data 2 as recommendation data 3, in the program ranking data 1 for each channel.
