<p>The method involves determining an ampacity (A) of high-voltage line (100) from an operating temperature limit of high voltage line, distribution temperature, conduction parameters, and meteorological parameters. A value of the ampacity is selected by optimizing a probability of exceeding the distribution temperature, where the probability is defined based on a joint probability model of operating current strength and temperature that depends on meteorological parameters. The selected ampacity value is recorded (118) in a storage unit of a monitoring device. The selection of the value of the ampacity is obtained by initializing ampacity to a value (108), estimating probability of exceeding the distribution temperature (110), comparing the probability with limit value (112) and updating the ampacity value (116). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program downloadable from a communication network and/or recorded on a computer readable medium and/or executable by a processor comprising instructions for executing a method for monitoring a high-voltage electric current transmission line (2) a device for monitoring a high-voltage electric current transmission line.</p> |
