PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine whether or not two character strings are mutually located on neighbor positions by comparing hash values of two characters, e.g. hash values of a normal password and an inputted password.SOLUTION: An encryption processing apparatus includes: a first similar character string generation part for generating a character string obtained by inserting a first wild card character into a first input character string as a first similar character string; a first encryption part for generating a first comparing cipher value by applying the first similar character string to an encryption function; a second similar character string generation part for generating a character string obtained by inserting a second wild card character into a second input character string as a second similar character string; a second encryption part for generating a second comparing cipher value by applying the encryption function to the second similar character string; and a similar cipher comparison part for determining similarity between the first input character string and the second input character string by comparing the first comparing cipher value with the second comparing cipher value. |
