1. A method for producing sodium carbonate, comprising integrating a carbon dioxide capture process with an ammonia-soda process,
wherein the carbon dioxide capture process comprises:
providing a process gas stream containing carbon dioxide;removing carbon dioxide from the process gas stream by bringing the process gas stream into contact with an ammoniated solution to allow absorption of the carbon dioxide into the ammoniated solution to generate a solution enriched with carbon dioxide and a gas stream depleted in carbon dioxide and enriched in ammonia, andremoving carbon dioxide from the solution enriched with carbon dioxide by desorption to generate a carbon dioxide rich gas, and the ammonia-soda process comprises:
reacting the carbon dioxide rich gas stream directly derived from the carbon dioxide capture process with an ammoniated brine solution to generate sodium bicarbonate, and converting the sodium bicarbonate to sodium carbonate. |
