The present invention relates to an anode active material for a lithium-sulfur battery and a manufacturing method thereof. Specifically, the present invention relates to an anode active material for a lithium-sulfur battery which comprises an amphiphilic polymer including a hydrophilic part and a hydrophobic part, and a sulfur-carbon composite; and to a manufacturing method thereof. The manufacturing method for a lithium-sulfur battery using the anode active material can improve the electric conductivity inside electrodes, the cycle property, and the capacity of the lithium-sulfur battery.
