发明名称 Separation of water-soluble organic compounds
摘要 A method of separating from one another an aqueous solution of at least two water-soluble organic acids, phenols, amines, lower monohydric alcohols, polyhydric alcohols, ether-alcohols, aldehydes, or ketones having ionization constants not exceeding 1.4 X 10-3 comprises feeding the mixture to a water immersed bed of a non-reactive ion-exchange resin capable of selectively absorbing the solutes to an extent corresponding to a difference of at least 0.1 between the distribution constants at a concentration of between 2 and 5 per cent by weight, thereby displacing from the bed an equal volume of water, and thereafter feeding water to the bed to elute the absorbed solutes and collecting successive fractions of effluent; the early ones of which contain the less easily absorbed solute or solutes and the later ones containing the more readily absorbed solute or solutes. The steps are then repeated, using a further volume of mixture on the same bed. Suitable cation exchange resins either in their salt or acidic form include sulphonated phenolformaldehyde resins, sulphonated copolymers of monovinyl aromatic hydrocarbons and polyvinyl aromatic hydrocarbons, and carboxylated resins. Suitable anion exchange resins either in their salt or basic form include resinous condensation products of phenol, formaldehyde and alkylene polyamines; the resinous condensation products of phenol, alkylene polyamines and ammonia; resinous quaternary ammonium bases or salts such as the reaction product of a tertiary amine and an insoluble cross-linked copolymer of a monovinyl aromatic hydrocarbon containing halomethyl groups or its aromatic nuclei. Specified aqueous mixtures for separation into the organic constituents include 4 per cent d-glucose with an equal amount of acetone; 5 per cent sucrose with equal amounts of glycerine, triethylene glycol and phenol; 4 per cent glycerine with an equal amount of acetone; 5 per cent diethylene-triamine with an equal amount of acetone; and 10 per cent acetone with an equal amount of formaldehyde. Specifications 557,414, 577,707 and 654,706, [Group IV (a)], are referred to.ALSO:A method of separating from one another at least two organic compounds in aqueous solution and of ionization constants not exceeding 1.4 X 10-3 comprises feeding the mixture to a water-immersed bed of a non-reactive ion-exchange resin capable of selectively absorbing the solutes to an extent corresponding to a difference of at least 0.1 between the distribution constants at a concentration of between 2 and 5 per cent by weight, thereby displacing from the bed an equal volume of water, and thereafter feeding water to the bed to elute the absorbed solutes and collecting successive fractions of effluent, the early ones of which contain the less easily absorbed solute or solutes and the later ones containing the more readily absorbed solute or solutions.
